E6 Slide Scanning London and UK

Slide Scanning

Scans from £0.50

Slide scanning is done on a state of the art, hi-end Noritsu commercial film scanner costing many thousands of pounds. The resulting images are beautifully rendered, colour corrected, sharp, and of superlative archival quality.

Your image is first displayed on a screen prior to scanning. At this stage we manually adjust the contrast, colour balance and saturation of the image until the screen is showing a perfectly optimised image. Scanning then takes place. Digital Ice technology is used during scanning to remove artifacts and specks of dust and scratches on the slide surface - the results are absolutely stunning.

Medium Format Slides

If you have medium format professional film slides which are in plastic or card mounts, please be aware that we will need to take the film out of the mounts in order to scan it. if the mounts have been glued or gummed together then we will not be able to remount the slides.

Dust and Scratches

Digital Ice is used when scanning colour films. This removes all scratches, artifacts and dust. However, the Digital Ice system does not with Black and White Films. So some scratches and dust marks may remain on the image after scanning.

Before scanning, we make sure that the equipment and film is as dust free as it can be, but inevitably, dust, scratches and other artifacts will be seen on the scans, especially at higher magnification.

Clients should be aware of this limitation as a condition of putting work in with us and should also be prepared to photoshop these Black and white scans as required.

Enhancements

No matter how many negatives you send us, each frame is individually assessed by an experienced technician and adjustments are made to optimise the resulting scan.
