How to Order

If you are unable to visit our shop in person, you can easily place your order by mailing your cine film to us. Simply send the film along with your instructions, address, and telephone number.

Once we receive your film, we will contact you to confirm the details of your order. Payment will be taken over the phone using your credit card. We strive to make the process as simple and efficient as possible.

Editable Computer Files

If you would like to have a more flexible format for home editing, instead of receiving a standard encoded DVD, we can provide you with an editable computer file. These files can be used for editing on both PCs and MACs, giving you full control over your project.

To receive an editable file, please provide us with an external hard drive or a large capacity USB stick. Alternatively, we can arrange a cloud-based download option for added convenience.

Extra DVDs - £8

While DVDs are incredibly durable and can last a lifetime without degradation, even the smallest scratch or scuff can render a DVD unplayable. For this reason, we highly recommend ordering an extra DVD backup copy of your cine film transfer.

The cost for an additional backup DVD is just £8 per DVD, offering peace of mind knowing your valuable footage is safely preserved.

Time and Length

The easiest way to find out both the running time and the film footage of 16mm film is to measure the diameter of the reel

3" diameter - 50ft, 2 minutes
5" diameter - 200ft, 8 minutes
7" diameter - 400ft, 15 minutes
9" diameter - 800ft, 30 minutes
12" diameter - 1200ft, 45 minutes

Cleaning

When you send your cine film to us, we will assess its condition for any damage or cleanliness issues free of charge. Most films may only require resplicing or a light cleaning with compressed air to remove dust and debris. In general, films do not require deep cleaning.

In some rare cases, films may have issues such as Vinegar Syndrome or mold and mildew damage. If your film exhibits any of these issues, we will contact you to discuss the options for treatment and restoration.
